The Kingdom of Morocco boasts stunning natural beauty and an extraordinarily rich and varied cultural heritage. In this magical land of legend and color, the souqs and thousand-year-old labyrinth medinas of fabled Fez, Meknes and Marrakech await your discovery. Experience one of the world’s great cuisines while luxuriating in former palace residences of Viziers, Pashas and Sultans.

Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat

Day 2: Rabat (B)
Enjoy a tour of Rabat, Morocco’s capital and one of four imperial cities. Visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the fortress of Chellah, the Hassan Tower, and Kasbah des Oudayas with its stunning museum set in a house built in the traditional Moroccan style.
 
Day 3: Rabat - Meknes - Volubulis - Fez (B, L)
Today drive through Moroccan countryside past fields of wheat, mint, mimosa and cork trees towards Meknes. [Approximately 3 hours driving time]. A cultural center of Morocco for more than ten centuries, Meknes boasts a fascinating medina (old city) and maze of streets filled with colorful stalls and architectural delights such as the Bab el-Mansour. Continue to Moulay Idriss, Morocco’s holiest city, and then onto the Roman ruins at Volubilis, famous for the Triumphal Arch and exceptionally fine mosaics depicting colorful scenes from classical mythology. Evening arrival in Fez. [Meknes/Volubulis to Fez driving time is approximately 1.5 hours]

Cultural and symbolic heart of Morocco, Fez el-Bali is the world’s largest and most beautiful living medieval city. A thousand year-old labyrinth of 300 mosques and 9,400 winding streets and alleyways that is home to countless ateliers, and markets. Tour the 14th century Medersa Bou Inania (theological college), famous for its Koranic scriptures in stucco, zellij tiles and carved wood. Explore the 13th century tanneries and henna and spice souqs (markets) as you wind your way through hidden squares, such as the Place an-Nejjarine.
 
Day 5: Fez - Marrakech (B)
A leisurely drive brings you through the Middle Atlas range and a landscape of Berber villages and ancient cedar forests. Stop for lunch in the Tadla region at Beni Mellal, famous for its oranges, grapefruits, giant apricots and scented figs. This is a full day’s drive, including stop for lunch.
 
Day 6: Marrakech (B)
Today tour the Saadian Tombs, El Badi Palace and the 12th century Koutoubia mosque. Meander your way through the medina, exploring an endless procession of souqs, mosques and medersas. Just before sunset visit the Djemaa el-Fna, the enormous square and atmospheric wonderland of torch-lit food stalls, snake charmers, storytellers and acrobats.
 
Day 7: Marrakech (B)
Today drive outside of Marrakech to experience the High Atlas Mountains with its majestic scenery. You will lunch at the famed Residence de la Roseraie with its beautiful gardens overflowing with roses of every color imaginable. Return in the afternoon to Marrakech.
 
Day 8: Marrakech (B)
Today is at leisure to enjoy Marrakech or the facilities of your beautiful hotel.
 
Day 9: Marrakech - Home (B)
Transfer to Marrakech’s Airport for your homeward bound flight.
