Current Safari Special

Join Jill Potash, Director of our African Department, and her husband on a 12-day safari July 9 – 20, 2009.  There is no better time to visit Southern Africa.  Enjoy cool nights and warm sunny days and the bush is low for wonderful game viewing. This is a private safari limited to just 14 guests and will truly be a memorable experience.

 

Included is magnificent Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world and time for a private sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River and bartering at the Craft Village. When we were last on the Zambezi we watched in fascination as 2 young bull elephants indulged in some adolescent rough housing on the bank nearby. Then, on to Botswana for a stay at the beautiful Chobe Game Lodge situated on the Chobe River. Here the game viewing is special with the largest concentration of elephants in Africa and over 450 species of birds. Game viewing will be with our own rangers in 4 X 4 open vehicles and river cruises on the Chobe. We came across a pride of lion on our last visit, and watched as the mothers carried the babies from one “safe” hiding place to another. We were also spellbound listening to brothers talking to each other, one across the Chobe River in Namibia and one on the Botswana side near our vehicle.

 

Returning to Johannesburg we will spend a night at The Grace, a lovely boutique property situated in the leafy suburb of Rosebank. The following morning a short flight will bring us directly into Mala Mala’s own airstrip for 3 nights at this world class game lodge. There will be morning and afternoon game drives with our ranger in 4 X 4 open vehicles – time to relax by the pool at the lodge in the middle of the day - and enjoy the unique experience of walking with your ranger in the bush. If you have never been in the bush you can’t imagine how incredible it is – and if you have – then you know how very extraordinary it is.

 

This is not a “once in a lifetime experience” as no-one ever visits Africa just once.
